反帝左翼傳統的追尋與酷兒再造:以〈趙南棟〉、《夜浪拍岸》為對話的解殖探問/黃道明(127民113.4 頁1-66)
1987年解嚴前夕,陳映真在《人間》發表中篇小說〈趙南棟〉,為50年代白色恐怖政治犯及其後代的精神構造塑像,對知青拋出了50年代左翼理想主義在消費社會何以為繼的政治課題。翌年,小劇場導演/酷兒劇作家田啟元(1964-1996)的布來希特史詩劇場《夜浪拍岸》以一底層歌舞團批判中華民國的新殖民依附,並通過歌舞團演員自身的勞動現場探索無產青年活在解嚴當下的生命意義。本文把《夜》劇視為對〈趙南棟〉解嚴問題意識的回應,企圖藉由兩個文本的脈絡化細讀,串起一個關於台灣反帝左翼傳統的追尋與再造的對話,藉此探索、回應新殖民情境下的消費個人主義精神困境。本文論證,小說的問題意識構築在白色恐怖瘖啞與消費世代失語的接合上,敘事體主要通過一位自省的慾望主體(趙爾平)批評了身陷其中的享樂主義,再通過趙父一代人縱身投入革命的「無我」精神及台籍菁英找尋祖國的去殖民認同歷程,把「唯我」個人主義框架予以相對化,從而為消費世代讀者提供了一個可反身觀照自身及所處歷史當下的參照點。而田啟元的《夜浪拍岸》則在承襲陳映真早期小說揭露戒嚴體制欺罔的批判思想基礎上(如處理軍中同性情慾與失鄉老兵的〈纍纍〉),一方面演繹〈纍纍〉,以軍官上妓院場景嘲諷附庸美、日的黨國主體及其狂妄自大心態,另方面則以歌舞團演員沉湎性愛的醉生夢死喻示新殖民依附經濟下年輕人的失根失語,並提出以工農兵妓等底層小人物維生的勞動位移為軸心的普羅團結政略,做為走出精神困境解方。本文指出,這寬廣的反污名陣線不但有別於新左身份認同政治及其預設的個人主義框架,而且也蘊含了超克冷戰對峙思維的潛力。追溯這個早於90年代西方酷兒理論引進台灣前的在地反帝左翼酷兒思想浮現,將有助吾人重新理解同性戀民族主義酷兒知識生產狀態及其解殖工程。

In 1987, just before the lifting of Martial Law in Taiwan, Chen Yingzhen published the novella ‘Zhao Nandong’. With its portrayal of the spiritual dynamic between political prisoners of the 1950s White Terror and their descendants in the 1980s, Chen raises a crucial question: how can the anti-imperial leftist idealism of the 1950s be revitalized in the era of consumerism? The subsequent year saw the debut of Socialism in the Capitalized Nude, a play written and directed by Tien Chiyuan (1964-1996), a prominent figure in Taiwan’s Little Theatre Movement. The Brechtian play deploys a low-end entertainment troupe to critique the ROC’s neocolonial dependency while exploring the meaning of life for proletariats amidst post-martial law social unrest. This article situates Tien’s play as a response to ‘Zhao Nandong’. Through contextualized reading, it explores Taiwan’s anti-imperial leftist tradition and its relevance to the spiritual crisis of consumer individualism under the Cold Division. The narrative device of ‘Zhao Nandong’, I argue, installs the protagonist (the elder son) as a desiring subject who self-critiques the consumer hedonism in which he is deeply involved. The individual framework of that self-critique is further relativized by the ‘selfless’ spirit of the father’s generation in their involvement with the Chinese Revolution and their quests for decolonization. Such relativization, I suggest, facilitates a mode of self-reflexivity for readers of self-centered consumer generations to engage with the historical present they inhabit critically. Meanwhile, underscoring Tien’s engagement with Chen’s thought, the article shows how Socialism in the Capitalized Nude extends Chen’s critique of the Martial Law Regime as a systemic deception in his homoerotic story ‘LeiLei’ (1966) to expose the US/Japan-dependent Kuomintang nationalist subjecthood as megalomaniac-like. While the play indexes sexual indulgence as a metaphor for colonial aphasia and spiritual numbness among the young troupe actors, it also gestures a possible way of spiritual rebirth by allying with other proletariat figures displaced by Cold War developmentalism, such as peasants-turned-workers, veteran soldiers, and prostitutes. The article argues that this anti-stigma alliance differs from the individual-centered identity politics of the New Left and has the potential to overcome Cold War antagonism. The tracing of Taiwan’s anti-imperial tradition thus necessitates a renewed context for rethinking the decolonizing work of queer knowledge production in the era of homonationalism.

核電作為「富饒能源機器」在台灣:生活世界與政治正當性的視角/蔡穎杰(127民113.4 頁67-123)
反核與國家定位問題自從1980年代以來,一向為我國公共領域爭論的兩大焦點,此兩大議題也經常互相交纏影響我國政局與社會之變遷。解嚴後第一個反對黨,民進黨,即是以「反核」與「台獨」作為兩大訴求而崛起。本研究使用哈伯瑪斯之溝通行動理論與貝克之風險社會理論之部分觀念,包括系統、生活世界、巨型風險、正當性,組成一分析視角,以解釋我國核電發展與政治正當性問題彼此的交涉。本文以次級資料分析結合論述分析,時間序列由1970年代直到民進黨於2001年首次執政嘗試停建核四失敗為止,分析核電「富饒能源機器」意象所蘊含的兩種意識形態:科技進步、經濟成長,是如何的被國民黨政府用來鞏固政治正當性。本文發現,台灣核電的發展歷程,並非僅是科技問題、軍事問題、經濟問題、電力供需問題、風險治理問題等,而是有其重要意識形態功能,並給後世帶來了重大的意識形態遺產。

The issues of anti-nuclear and national identity have been the two major public debates in Taiwan since the 1980s. These two issues are often intertwined and have a significant impact on the country’s political landscape and societal changes. The first opposition party after the lifting of the martial law, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), rose to prominence based on its two major proposals of “anti-nuclear” and “Taiwan independence”. This study draws on the communication action theory of Habermas and the risk society theory of Ulrich Beck, including concepts such as “system”, “lifeworld”, “modern risk”, and “legitimacy”, to form an analytical perspective for interpreting the interaction between nuclear power development and political legitimacy issues.
Using literature analysis combined with discourse analysis, this paper analyzes the two ideologies inherent in the nuclear power development from the 1970s until the DPP’s failed attempt to halt the construction of the fourth nuclear power plant in 2001: “technological progress” and “economic growth”, and how they were used by the Kuomintang (KMT) to consolidate political legitimacy. The study finds that Taiwan’s nuclear power development is not just a matter of technology, economics, power supply, risk governance, and so on, but also serves an important ideological function to consolidate political legitimacy. As such, it leaves a significant ideological legacy for future generations.

光合菌農業社群的知識學習與共創/簡義明、林淑惠、林從一(127民113.4 頁125-172)
光合菌農業社群的形成與發展是台灣社會這幾年新興的一場草根公民農學運動。本文試著在全球化的語境中,回顧各地的小農如何喪失話語權與主體性,而後經由不同路徑與方式的社群重建過程,逐步找回農民與土地的共生關係。論文接著梳理了自2018年以來這場行動的緣起、脈絡與歷程,藉由微生物光合菌在田間現場的導入與應用,引動了更多農民走向永續農業之路。在這個共學社群裡,農民與生物科學家、社造協作者、大學團隊共同促進這一連串互為主體、「共作知識(mutual-making knowledge)」的學習行動,發展出了不同於以往的農業知識生產模式與學習方法。
在學習與共作的過程中,農民在農田、市場與生活中的存有型態逐步改變,他們的身體、身形、時間感、空間感、土壤觀亦有極大的翻轉。農民們逐漸把被市場與技術工具化的身體與技藝找回來,重新掌握發言的主動權,重建了自身的主體性,儘管市場與經濟的考量仍舊影響著他們的農業技術與思維,但已不是唯一主導原則。農民們從理性計算開始,逐步進入到同時兼顧生產時間與生態時間的丈量方式,藉由微生物光合菌的知識學習、交流與田間應用,建立了人與物,人與人全新的社群形式,創造了具有反身性動能的實踐關係。

The formation and development of the photosynthetic bacteria agricultural community is a grassroots citizen agricultural movement that has emerged in Taiwan in recent years. This paper attempts to review how small farmers have lost their voice and subjectivity in the context of globalization, and then gradually found back the symbiotic relationship between farmers and land through the process of community rebuilding in different paths and ways. This study then combs through the origin, context, and process of this action since 2018. By introducing and applying photosynthetic bacteria in the field, this action has driven more farmers to the path of sustainable agriculture. In this learning community, farmers, biologists, community builders, and university teams work together to promote a series of learning actions of “mutual-making knowledge” that achieves inter-subjectivity, and to develop different agricultural knowledge production models and learning methods from the past.
In the process of learning and collaboration, farmers’ modes of existence in the fields, markets, and lives are gradually changing. Their bodies, shapes, sense of time, sense of space, and view on the soil have also undergone a great transformation. Farmers gradually regain their bodies and skills that have been commodified by the market and technology, regain the initiative to speak, and rebuild their subjectivity. Although market and economic considerations still affect their agricultural technology and thinking, they are no longer the only guiding principles. Farmers start from rational calculation and gradually enter a way of measuring that considers both production time and ecological time. Through the learning, exchange, and field application of the knowledge of photosynthetic bacteria, they have established a new form of community between people and things and created a practical relationship with reflexive dynamism.
